Pine Harbor Community in Charlotte, North Carolina

One of the great things about living in Charlotte is that it allows easy access to both the best of North Carolina and the best of South Carolina. The city lies right along the Carolina border, and it’s easy enough to head north toward Lake Norman or to head south into some of Charlotte’s lovely South Carolina suburbs.

If that’s the kind of lifestyle that sounds appealing to you, then the Pine Harbor area is a good place for you to investigate. Pine Harbor Road lies at the southernmost part of Charlotte, in the area called Steele Creek; living here, you’ll be within Charlotte city limits, and close to many South Charlotte amenities, yet you’ll also be exceedingly close to South Carolina, with York County just a couple of minutes away.

Real Estate in Pine Harbor

The Pine Harbor area offers some excellent real estate options, for singles and for families alike. This is a somewhat affluent area of town, and real estate prices are not necessarily cheap, but there are certainly plenty of options, including rentals.

Primarily, the homes here are either mid-sized or large. This means they could be anywhere from three to five bedrooms! Also noteworthy is the many apartments in the general area. Note that the residences in Pine Harbor tend to be on the newer side; many were built between 1970 and 1999, but there are also several post-2000 developments that are worth investigating.

Life in Pine Harbor balances the quiet of the suburbs with the hustle of big city life. Indeed, in terms of population density, Pine Harbor technically qualifies as a suburb, yet there is plenty of shopping and dining to do in the Steele Creek area.

Moving to the Queen City

For those who are new to Charlotte, it’s important to emphasize that the city is sprawling and diverse, with each borough having a flavor all its own. Steele Creek, which is the basic neighborhood in which Pine Harbor residents will find themselves, is known for its intermingling of big-city and suburban features, which is precisely why many families love it.

Maybe this is the Charlotte neighborhood for you, and maybe it isn’t. Certainly, though, it is worth investigating as you seek out a lovely Charlotte home in a vibrant neighborhood—preferably with an active HOA!
