Topsail Island is a 26-mile long barrier island off the coast of North Carolina. It is located in both Pender and Onslow counties, North Carolina, and lies just south of Camp Lejeune, the Bogue Banks, and the Outer Banks. Topsail Island, NC contains the communities of North Topsail Beach, Surf City and Topsail Beach. Along with its thick maritime forests, Topsail Island is also a sanctuary for sea turtles and known for its beautiful beaches. There are only two ways on and off the island: the first is a high rise bridge on the North End and the second is a swing bridge into Surf City.

Surf City: The racial composition of Surf City was 97.77% Caucasian, 0.43% African American, 1.01% Hispanic, 0.07% Native American, 0.72% Asian, 0.14% Pacific Islander, 0.22% from other races, and 0.65% from two or more races.

Topsail Beach: The racial composition of Topsail Beach was 99.36% Caucasian, 0.21% Native American, 0.42% Hispanic, 0.21% Asian, and 0.21% from other races.
